Studying IGCSE History will help you to answer important questions. Learning about past events and the people who have influenced history will allow you to understand how the world got to the point it’s at now and how it will continue to develop in the future.

KS3
In year 7 you will be introduced to some of the most important aspects of History such as the Norman Conquest and medieval life. In year 8 you will study the Tudors and Stuarts and the impact they had on Britain. In Year 9 you will study WW1, 2 and the Cold War.
KS4
In Year 10 you will study two broad investigations, “The origins and course of the First World War 1905–18”. You will also study “Changes in Medicine from 1848 to 1948”. In Year 11, you will study “Superpower Relations from 1943 to 1972”. “Civil Rights in the USA from 1945 to 1974” which is the study of how African Americans began to demand equal rights.
KS5
In year 12 you will study Britain from 1964-90. You will study an array of different political theories that underpinned British society as well the success and failures of the Labour and Conservative Party Governments. During term 2 and 3 in year 12 you will study the Soviet Union from 19170-91. You will gain an overview of Soviet leaders such as Stalin and understand how they ruled the country.
