Staff Training and Professional Development

At Al Basma, we are committed to continuous professional development to ensure our staff deliver the highest standards of education and safeguarding. All our staff meet the stringent ADEK requirements required to teach in Abu Dhabi Most are experienced and skill in the UK curriculum and those who join us with minimal UKexpereince follow a rigorous induction program.

In addition we run:

Annual Safeguarding Training: All staff complete mandatory safeguarding training each year to maintain a safe and supportive environment for our students.

Comprehensive Induction: New staff, especially those new to the UAE, receive a thorough induction covering school systems, procedures, and local compliance to help them settle in smoothly.

Ongoing Training: We provide continuous professional development linked to both the UK curriculum and UAE regulations. This includes training from internal and external providers such as the UK-based Read Write Inc. (RWI) program delivered every August.

Leadership Development: All leaders are developed internally and where possible attend external training. Several leaders at Al Basma are undertaking National Professional Qualifications (NPQs), and some have been trained as Irtiqaa and BSO inspectors, enhancing our school’s capacity for self-evaluation and external inspection readiness.
